Another cold day

Well it was another cold day. No fishing, but the Packers whipped the Lions, the skiing was awesome, It was a decent day to tie and nap.

Looks like tomorrow may fish, but it will still be cold 30 degrees if I am lucky. I will probably hit the Me. See if I can get one last Oncorhynchus Mykiss before the year ends. Even though it was a really good season, I already am starting to feel like I may not see a Steelhead ever again. This is mostly senseless as it wasn't that long ago that Barto got bright hen on a really cold day.

O. Mykiss

Looking forward to the 2008 season. It is probably time to start planning to go west.

Stacking tubes

Tied at the local flyshop today. Tube flies. Good turn out, good reward, thanks Tim.

Well, I've been having an idea for a while regarding the best way to get a fly that could combine my favorite aspects of both a string leach and an intruder. I feel that I got close today by stacking tubes and even stacking beads in between them.

Stacked Tube With Beads

Now I am just waiting to hear from BR to see if the Mil will fish or if it is locked up. That maybe the only chance I have to test out this new tube system.

Snow Storms

I finaly have an afternoon that I can take off. There's a snow storm.
The little lady got me the best waders ever for Christmas, G3s w/ custom boots.

We need the snow, we need serious snow pack. The rivers up here have been bone dry the last few summers and falls, but why must it snow today. I am sooo sick of tying flies, and talking about steelhead I want to actually fish. It time to get a grab, or at least to cast a line without the constant built up of ice in the guides. Fucks for today.

Well at least 2007 was a really awesome year. Team Husky rocked the Deschutes, speciffically Husky#1 rocked the Dechutes. Barto and I fished winter and summer steelhead out west, not alot of fish on those trips, but Barto got his here in N.E.W. Even BR got fall steel on the Mil.

I had a great season on the Me, and through November all was great, but then the ice came. and here we sit, waiting to fish.

First Post

So, this is my first post. I have created this blog for Team Husky, BR, Barto, Tightlines and other interested Parties. My goal is to focus the two-handed rod fishing that we are doing here in N.E.W. I want to be able to gather and desiminate fishing info with my friends, share our pictures, and release anger regarding all the undeserving bastards that catch fish when we don't.
